Traditions pour Demain
Sustainability Strategy & Donor Readiness
Summary
Strengthening SDG alignment, donor readiness, and strategic communications for Traditions pour Demain, a Geneva-based NGO with a 40-year history advancing the rights and cultures of Indigenous peoples and Afro-descendant minorities in Latin America, including advocacy contributions at UNESCO's Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Key Achievements
Assessed organizational strategy against SDG priorities and FGC/Swiss Cooperation monitoring requirements, and recommended deeper SDG alignment for the NGO's 2025–2026 Strategic Plan revision.
Delivered donor-readiness analysis and M&E frameworks for partner project proposals, catching critical gaps before funder submission.
Recommended an SDG-integration strategy for the website, mapping active projects to relevant SDGs.
Developed an Instagram growth strategy and a 40th-anniversary communications campaign, including a logo system and donor mobilization page.
Produced multilingual (EN/FR/ES) communication materials supporting campaigns and donor engagement.
The Problem
Traditions pour Demain operates in an increasingly constrained funding environment, with Swiss cooperation funding progressively redirected away from Latin America. As a member of FGC (Fédération genevoise de coopération) since 1988, the NGO's funding and reporting are governed by the FGC's Manuel and Programme stratégique; it is also ZEWO-certified, held to Swiss governance and financial transparency standards under Swiss GAAP RPC 21. Anchored in the UN's 2030 Agenda, Traditions pour Demain needed stronger SDG alignment, donor reporting, and digital visibility to remain competitive for a shrinking pool of funding. It also needed a strategy to mark its upcoming 40th anniversary as a moment of donor engagement rather than let it pass unmarked.
How We Helped
Reviewed the NGO's strategy against SDG priorities and FGC/Swiss Cooperation monitoring criteria, and recommended embedding stronger SDG alignment into the 2025–2026 Strategic Plan.
Reviewed partner project donor proposals, identifying gaps, and built monitoring frameworks aligned with the SDGs, OECD-DAC criteria, and recognized sector-specific tools.
Designed a page-by-page plan to integrate SDG icons and messaging across the website.
Audited the organization's Instagram presence and developed a content strategy to strengthen donor connection.
Designed a temporary 40th-anniversary logo system and donor mobilization page.
Designed the presentation templates and multilingual (EN/FR/ES) materials used to bring this work to leadership and donors.
The Impact
Delivered recommendations to align the organization's 2025–2026 Strategic Plan more consistently with the SDGs, including how progress could be measured, in line with FGC and Swiss Cooperation reporting requirements.
Strengthened partner project proposals through donor-readiness reviews and M&E frameworks aligned with the SDGs and OECD-DAC criteria.
Produced a complete SDG-integration roadmap for the website, ready for implementation.
Equipped the NGO with a 40th-anniversary campaign concept and Instagram content strategy, ready to launch.
Delivered multilingual (EN/FR/ES) communication materials supporting donor engagement and events.
